UniCote® Select
More than 1 km from the coastThe standard sheet for most of Adelaide and inland SA.
Warranty up to 45 yearsOnce a roof starts letting water in, the bill grows every winter you leave it. Ceilings, insulation, wiring, then the timbers. We will tell you whether yours needs replacing or just fixing.
We re-roof houses right across South Australia. Brick veneers in the northern suburbs, stone homes in the east, farmhouses past Gawler. Most of the work is stripping old tiles and putting steel on, but we also replace tired metal roofs and repair the timbers underneath when they have had enough.
Every job starts with someone getting up on the roof and photographing what is there. If it has another ten years in it we will say so. If it does not, you get a fixed price in writing, a start date, and the same crew from the first day to the last.
Every one of these is written into the quote before we start, so there is nothing to argue about at the end.
Colorbond® steel, made and tested for Australian weather. The same shades are available in UniCote® steel if you want the longer coastal warranty. Tap a swatch to see it on a roof profile.
All eight are available across our roofing range, and the full Colorbond® palette has 22. Colours look different on a phone, so we bring real samples to the quote and hold them against your bricks.
Every sheet looks the same on the truck. The difference between a roof that still looks new in twenty years and one that is chalking after six is the coating, and that is decided before the steel is ordered.
We can supply your roof sheets in UniCote®, an Australian pre-painted steel with two grades chosen by how close you are to the sea. Both are tested to the Australian standard for pre-painted steel (AS/NZS 2728).
Both sides are coated. The steel core never touches the weather.
The standard sheet for most of Adelaide and inland SA.
Warranty up to 45 yearsA thicker coating with magnesium added, which seals the cut edges where steel usually rusts first.
Warranty up to 50 yearsThere is no one number. The warranty is written for your address, based on how far you are from the water and what is going on the roof. We lodge it before the steel is ordered and it comes back within 48 hours, so you have it in hand before the sheets arrive. Like every steel warranty it needs the roof washed down now and then. We will tell you how often.
UniCote® has 21 standard colours plus three matt finishes, and a larger range if you want something different. Same rule as always: we bring samples, you hold them against the house.
You always know what happens next, what it costs, and who will be at your house.
Someone gets up on the roof or into the space and photographs what is there. You see the photos. No sales pitch.
For carports and verandahs we draw it in CAD and show you a 3D picture. Every job gets a written quote with the scope and inclusions spelled out.
Where council approval or engineering is needed, we prepare and lodge it. Then we book a start date and tell you what to expect each day.
Licensed trades, on site when we said, working to the quoted scope. If something unexpected turns up we stop and speak to you first.
You inspect the job with us. We sweep the driveway for screws. You get the materials and workmanship warranties in writing.
If yours is not here, ring us. It is quicker than reading.
Three to five working days for most single-storey houses, weather allowing. Whatever we strip in a day is sealed by the end of that day. Your house is never left open overnight.
Yes. The strip is noisy, but the house stays dry and liveable the whole time. We will tell you which days are the loud ones.
Steel is lighter, quicker to put on, and shrugs off hail. Tiles suit some older streets. We will go through both against your house rather than push one.
We stop, photograph it, and talk to you before doing anything. The repair is priced separately so you can see exactly what it is. No surprise line on the final invoice.
It can, and the reason is what goes under the sheets rather than the sheets themselves. A re-roof is the only time the roof cavity is open, so it is the cheapest moment to add a builder's blanket. That is a foil-faced insulation blanket rolled out over the battens before the steel goes on. It keeps summer heat out and winter heat in, which takes load off the air conditioner all year. You will feel it in February. Adding the same blanket later means lifting the roof again, so it is worth doing now.
Doing two jobs in one visit is nearly always cheaper than two visits.
